Elections 2023

The Women's Health Division is hosting it's annual elections for roles on our Executive Committee and Operational Subcommittee. We welcome your voice at the table, and would love to have you involved.
The following roles on our Executive Committee are up for member election:
Chair Elect (1 year term)
The Chair Elect works to support the current Chair as needed and actively participates in special projects, engage in leadership opportunities and activities, be involved in governance conversations for succession planning and learn the role of Chair. The Chair Elect term is followed by a 2 year term as Chair.
Primary Responsibilities:
Attend executive and operational subcommittee meetings
Participate/work on activities/projects
Past chair to serve as ‘institutional memory’
Incoming chair to onboard in preparation for term as Chair
Requirements:
Registered physiotherapist in Canada
CPA and WHD member
Passion for women’s health and pelvic health
Experience serving on WHD operational sub-committee, preferably as Position Lead
Strong leadership, communication and collaboration
Experience with governance, committee involvement
This role will be voted on by the membership following our annual members meeting.

The following roles on our Operational Subcommittee are up for executive committee election:
Knowledge Translation (KT) Lead (2 year term)
The KT Lead is responsible for managing the knowledge translation activities related to the WHD. The KT Lead will advise, engage and support research initiatives of the WHD and related stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities:
Attend monthly operational subcommittee meetings
Take a lead role in developing and analyzing research activities within the WHD
Build awareness of KT opportunities in the Women’s health PT community
Engage with stakeholders (eg. clinicians, opinion leaders, researchers, administrators, professional organizations) in collaboration to enhance knowledge translation.
Collaborate with subcommittee volunteers to support their meaningful engagement in WHD projects
Support CPA yearly congress through the Women’s health stream
Actively participate as the WHD representative of the DKMC
Requirements:
Registered physiotherapist in Canada
CPA and WHD member
Passion for women’s health and pelvic health
Strong research background and/or current involvement in research
Education Lead (2 year term)
The Education Lead is responsible for managing the education activities related to the WHD. This includes but is not limited to congress organization and promotion, assisting with the execution of Knowledge Translation activities, and contributing to newsletter contributions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Organize the WHD stream of each annual Congress (including a WHD pre/post congress course if offered) and assist with its promotion
Education lead on all WHD content
Collaborate with Student Representative on annual Speaker Series
Review/provide feedback (relevance check, themes/terms current) on newsletter prior to executive review and member circulation, WHD website, WHD newsletter)
Provide an annual contribution to the WHD newsletter (“Education Corner”)
Attend WHD meetings as scheduled (monthly, etc)
Collaborate with Knowledge Translation lead on relevant educational activities
Requirements:
Registered physiotherapist in Canada
CPA and WHD member
Passion for women’s health and pelvic health
Strong academic background and/or current involvement in academia
Student Representative (1 year term)
The student representative works to promote women’s health and pelvic health to physiotherapy students across Canada by running student-wide events (Valentine’s Day Challenge, seasonal webinars), answering inquiries about the WHD and PT roles within women’s health, be the student voice for advocacy and leadership on the WHD Committee.
Primary:
Organize and manage the Valentine’s Day Challenge (VDC), which is a collection drive for women’s shelters, completed by physiotherapy students and clinics around Canada
Collaborate with Education Chair on Speakers Series: webinars for students and physiotherapists (4 in total from September-June)
Facilitate recruitment of a new student rep for the WHD
Participate in monthly WHD Exec meetings
Communicate with the National Students Assembly regarding WHD activities and initiatives
Requirements:
Physiotherapy student in Canada
CPA and WHD member (student)
Passion for women’s health and pelvic health
Proficient communication, time management and teamwork skills
Experience using excel/ google docs, and an interest in fundraising
These roles will be voted on by our executive committee following our annual members meeting.

The following other volunteer roles are currently available:
Social Media Admin (1 year term - beginning Summer 2023)
Our Social Media Admin will work with our Student Rep and Communications Lead to manage our social media channels. This role will include creation of social media posts to support division and national office activities, and the ability to share other relevant content as appropriate. This role requires a time commitment of approximately 30-60 minutes per week.
Content Creation Pool/Newsletter Writers (1 year term, multiple positions available)
Content creators will develop content for the WHD on an as-needed basis (newsletter articles, social media posts, special writing opportunities from CPA National Office). This role responds to specific needs of the WHD and the time commitment will fluctuate.
